Katinka Soetens, Priestess of Avalon
The Goddess has been with me all my life, looking back She is like a red thread that has led and guided me. Her love and compassion are limitless and I know to trust Her calling. From being raised a liberal Protestant in Holland with a strong sense of the spiritual, to starting to question our place in society and the world as a girl/woman and as part of a species with so apparent little respect or consideration for the natural world of which we are integral, it wasn’t long before I started to find my way to nature spirituality and Wicca. I found myself drawn to Cornwall, where I’ve lived now for many years, and then to Glastonbury, as She was calling me back to Her in stronger and louder ways.
In 2001 I trained and self-initiated as Priestess of Avalon, which has been, and is, an on-going journey of experiencing being connected to Her and holding Her energy. It has been an amazing joy to deepen my understanding and connection to Goddess through Kathy Jones’ training spirals.
I am a priestess enchantress and a part of the Glastonbury Goddess Conference ceremonial group. On occasion I priestess in the Glastonbury Goddess temple.
I love creating and holding ceremonies for all rites of passage, those special transformative times in all our lives, as well as for the seasonal celebrations of the wheel of the year. Now a mother of three home-educated children living in Cornwall, I hold rituals for friends and family at most of those times and workshops in which to explore the different aspects of the Goddess.
I am available as priestess for blessingway-, maiden and boy hood-, menarche-, handfasting-, divorce-, crone crowning- and death or remembrance- ceremonies, as well as for the seasonal celebrations and for Goddess workshops.
I create lovely Goddess jewellery, for sale during the Goddess conference or by private arrangement, and soon also on the web.
It is my privilege to work as a Natural Active Birth ante-natal teacher, holding weekly birth preparation classes, and as a doula, a birth companion. I am a member of Doula UK. I also teach the celebration of being female through belly dance and am available for dance workshops or classes.
