Email Correspondence Course 2010/11 Spiral Two - Practicing Priestess Course DetailsThis Second Spiral Email course provides a vital next step towards Self-Initiation as a Priestess of the Goddess and of Avalon. Delving more deeply into the Mysteries of Avalon this year’s training offers opportunities to develop practical priestessing skills, and to explore your role as a Goddess ceremonialist, counselor, visionary and spiritual friend. Open to those who have completed the First Spiral of the Priestess of Avalon training, culminating in a ceremony of Self-Dedication as Priestess or Priest of the Goddess. The Second Spiral Email Correspondence Course begins during the week beginning November 1st 2010 and comprises eight sessions of distance learning, assignments, tutorials and supervision spread over one year. Every five-six weeks students will be sent Microsoft Word documents by email containing written and experiential tasks to complete over the following weeks. These must be recorded as written work, reports, journal excerpts, art and craftwork with digital photographs where appropriate, and sent by email to Ren for assessment and feedback. Distance students will also have the opportunity to telephone their tutor for a personal 30 minute tutorial once every six weeks. In addition distance students must be able to attend two compulsory four-day tuition sessions in Glastonbury during the Second Spiral. The first four day session will take place February 3rd-6th 2011 and the second one will be September 15th-18th 2011, which will include a Ceremony of Self-Dedication as a Priestess or Priest of the Goddess. During these four day sessions students will deepen their connection to the landscape, spirituality and culture of Glastonbury Avalon and have the opportunity to visit the Goddess Temple and sacred sites of Glastonbury. They will also meet other students on the Correspondence course and on the Glastonbury course, as well as Self-initiated Priestesses and Priests of Avalon. Course fees cover tuition for these two four day sessions, but do not include accommodation, food, travel or insurance, which must be arranged and paid for separately (recommendations for B&B or hotel accommodation will be given.) November 6th/7th 2010 At the end of the first year of training students take part in a special Self-Initiation Ceremony in which they dedicate themselves to the Goddess as Sisters and Brothers of Avalon. For this ceremony you write and speak your own Vow of Dedication. This vow marks an important step that requires daily commitment and focus. On the first weekend of the Second Spiral of training students further examine what this dedication really means as a focus for daily spiritual practice and as it affects the choices you make in you daily life, in work, relationships, etc. Students explore what it means to become a Priestess and Priest of the Goddess, the goal for the end of the Second Spiral of training. The path of the Priest/ess is primarily a path of devotion to the Goddess, as She expresses Herself through the cycle of the seasons of Her nature within the natural landscape, in the everyday world, in legend and in present day revelations. On this training our devotion is particularly focussed on the Lady of Avalon, the Goddess of the Isle of Avalon and we need to know what that means. Circle 2 : Creating and Performing Goddess-centred Ceremonies : Part 1
11th-12th December 2010 Together we will look at the basic principle of creating and performing the many ceremonies and rites of passage you may be called upon to perform as Priestesses and Priests of the Goddess. In ceremony Priest/esses consciously create conditions in which you and others can experience the energies of the Goddess, moving within and between us all. Students explore the nature of the archetypal Priestess and Priest Self and how to call her/him into your bodies. You will learn how to invoke the Goddess and how to create energy containers in which the Goddess may be experienced by all those present. You will learn about finding and holding inner stillness, how to hear and respond to intuition and the ability to be sensitive to movement within Her energy field. Circle 3 : Visit to Glastonbury
Creating and Performing Goddess-centred Ceremonies : Part 2
February 3rd/4th/5th/6th 2011 Revisiting the sacred landscape of Glastonbury Avalon, deepen your connection to the land and meet with students taking the full course in Glastonbury. A practical circle when you begin to lay the seeds of your future practice as a Priestess, creating, developing and practising your own Goddess inspired ceremonies with supportive and reflective feedback. Circle 4 : Journeying between the worlds for healing, guidance and soul retrieval
26th-27th March 2011 The Isle of Avalon is the Otherworldly Paradise that lies beyond the Veil of Avalon. This veil is both a misty or fiery Veil that hides the sacred land of Avalon from the ordinary world. And it is an etheric Veil, a Veil in consciousness that separates the visible from the invisible spiritual worlds. Students learn how to journey psychically and spiritually between the worlds into these unseen realms, for personal healing, guidance and soul retrieval for themselves and others. Students are taught how to make safe passage through secret pathways to the Isle of Avalon using sound, visualisation and veils, and how to return safely. You will take part in guided journeys between the worlds to Avalon. Circle 5 : Gender and the Goddess
7th-8th May 2011 Having the Goddess in the centre of our lives changes the way that we relate to each other as women and men, and to the wider society in which we live. We shall spend a weekend exploring the many gender issues that arise on the Goddess path. These include the role of women as the human manifestation of the Goddess in the world, the role of men as Her Guardians and Protectors, where God fits in, etc., as well as the challenge of living in patriarchal societies that encourage power over competition within and between the sexes and how we can all be empowered from within to be truly who we are. You will have the opportunity to explore some of your own prejudices and truths about gender and the Goddess. You will explore Women’s and Men’s Mysteries. Circle 6 : Reading the Signs in Nature and Scrying for Visions
11th-12th June 2011 The Goddess’s nature is everywhere and part of the Priest/ess path includes learning to read the signs that are visible all around us within Her nature, if we have the eyes to see and the ears to listen. You will learn to develop your inner sight and hearing. You learn to listen to your intuition and respond to its messages. You learn how to scry for a vision (read the signs), using the elements of Her nature – air, fire, water and earth, and how to hear Her voice within Her nature. You learn to look into the present moment to unravel the difficulties of the past and to reveal the possibilities of the future, through visions which can inspire yourself and your community. Circle 7 : Oracling and Embodiment of the Goddess
16th-17th July 2011 Goddess is both immanent and transcendent. She is within each one of us as our individual and collective Soul, and She is without, as the vast Source of All that is. Hers is the love that connects everything within Her universe. You will explore the nature of your own soul, learning how to manifest your soul’s energy in the world, as a source of love, creativity, generosity and compassion. Oracling and Embodiment of the Goddess are ancient priestess arts which were once common in the old Goddess religions, and which are being reclaimed within this Avalonian tradition. You continue to hone the skill of invoking your archetypal priest/ess self into your body. You then learn how to Oracle for the Goddess and how to call the Goddess into your body and being. You learn how to speak truly for Her, offering words of comfort, inspiration and love to those who wish to meet the Goddess in a physical form. Circle 8 : Visit to Glastonbury – Pathways through Her Labrynth in life and on Glastonbury Tor
September 15th/16th/17th/18th 2011 On the final weekend of the Second Spiral training students learn the secrets of the seven circuit Labrynth as an ancient Goddess symbol, as a ceremonial pathway, and as a transformational journey. You learn how to create a Goddess Labrynth using flour, flowers, tape, stone or string. You explore the huge three-dimensional Goddess Labrynth on the slopes of Glastonbury Tor and learn how to guide others through its hidden pathways. During your time within the centre of the Tor Labrynth successful students take part in their special self-created Ceremony of Self-Initiation as Priestesses and Priests of the Goddess.
