2010-11 The Practice of the Presence of the Lady of Avalon
With Kathy Jones The Practice of the Presence of the Lady of Avalon is the Third Spiral and final year of the three year Priestess of Avalon training. It consists of a nine month daily spiritual practice which is designed to give you a deeper, more profound spiritual experience of the Lady of Avalon, Nolava of the Sacred Land, the Goddess whom Priestesses and Priests of Avalon aspire to serve. Each daily practice session lasts between 25-45 minutes and students will need to have time in their lives to carry out this practice, especially when the number of sessions per day increases. If possible students are encourage to participate in the Glastonbury course, coming to the course four times in the nine months – see the full course pages. The Third Spiral is taught in three assignment sessions which are spread out over nine months, the Practice expanding and intensifying every three months. The Practice culminates during the fourth session in a special Self-Initiation Ceremony in which students have the opportunity to Self-Initiate as Priestesses and Priests of Avalon. To be eligible to take part in this Ceremony students must have successfully completed the First and Second Spirals of the Priestess of Avalon training, three sets of Third Spiral assignments, have attended two three day sessions in Glastonbury and have performed the Practice of the Presence daily for nine months. The Third Spiral Email Correspondence Course begins with a visit to Glastonbury Friday 15th-Sunday 17th October 2010 to receive instruction and the Empowerment of the Practice by the tutor, Kathy Jones. At approximately three monthly intervals students will be sent additional instructions advancing the practice, by email in Microsoft Word documents, with written and experiential tasks to complete over the following weeks. Your experiences should be recorded as written reports and journal excerpts, with digital photographs where appropriate, and sent by email to Kathy for assessment and feedback. Distance students have the opportunity to telephone Kathy for a personal 30 minute tutorial once every six weeks to discuss progress and challenges met. The second three day visit to Glastonbury takes place at the end of the nine months – July 8th-10th 2011. During the three-day sessions in Glastonbury students will deepen their connection to the landscape, spirituality and culture of Avalon and have the opportunity to spend time in the Goddess Temple and visit sacred sites of Glastonbury. They will also meet other students on the Email Correspondence course and on the Glastonbury course, as well as Self-initiated Priestesses and Priests of Avalon. Course fees include tuition for these two three-day sessions, but do not include accommodation, food, travel or insurance, which must be arranged and paid for separately (recommendations for B&B or hotel accommodation will be given.) Introduction to the Practice of the Presence of the Lady of Avalon
October 15th/16th/17th 2010 During the first gathering students meet each other and once again connect to the sacred landscape of Glastonbury Avalon. They learn the basic spiritual practice of the Presence of Nolava, Lady of Avalon, and will be empowered to perform it for themselves. Students are given images of the Lady to work with in their visualisations as well as written and esoteric instructions on the Practice. January 15th/16th 2011 The Practice changes and intensifies to two 25-45 minute sessions a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Immersion in Her Presence
April 16th/17th 2011 The Practice intensifies further to three times a day – a longer morning session, shorter midday session and a longer evening session - Immersion in the Presence of the Lady of Avalon. Visit to Glastonbury
Self-Initiation as a Priestess or Priest of Avalon
July 8th/9th/10th 2011 Time to walk the sacred landscape of Avalon, meet other students and ground into the energies of the land. Individual demonstration in ceremony of your ability to generate and transmit the energies of Nolava, Lady of Avalon. With Ceremony of Self-Initiation as a Priestess or Priest of Avalon in the Glastonbury Goddess Temple. Workshop Times in Glastonbury: Friday 10.00am-4.00pm
